Nestled between Stags Leap and Oakville, our 16-acre estate occupies a remarkable
position in Napa's legendary "Golden Triangle." This location isn’t random — it was carefully selected to capture the most nuanced expressions of the valley.
The vineyard is divided into 20 micro-blocks, including eight Cabernet Sauvignon clones, two of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot, and one Chardonnay clone.
Within the beating heart of Napa Valley, the vineyard’s appeal also lies with its proximity to world-class resorts and restaurants.

Volcanic deposits layer over ancient sandstone, creating a foundation that challenges our vines. Gravelly alluvial soils, river rocks, and a gentle
western-facing slope work together — forcing our vines to struggle, to dig deep, and to create something extraordinary.

Where others followed tradition, our founder, Paul Frank, saw poetry in going against the grain. Standing among these vines, you'll experience an elegant labyrinth: long, uninterrupted sightlines stretching toward the horizon, each row a deliberate brushstroke against the Napa landscape.
Gemstone is a defiant patchwork — with rows running north to south, contrary to every vineyard around us, but complimentary to the bay breezes funneled through Napa’s eastern hills..

As one of Napa Valley’s most trusted and acclaimed winemakers, Gemstone was honored to bring on the expertise of Julien Fayard as winemaker.
From the small town of Saint-Étienne, France, to the legendary cellars of Château Lafite Rothschild, his path has been unconventional — much like Gemstone itself.
His philosophy is simple yet profound: terroir comes
first. Every decision, from planting to harvest, is about revealing the vineyard's truest expression.
